Positive photographic slide. Photograph depicts the May Day Parade going down Shaughnessy Street. The parade float central to this image is the Royal Party float. The May Queen, Maids, Miss Canada, Record Bearer, and Flower Girls are all likely on this float. There is also a decorative May Pole and arch made out of handmade crepe paper flowers. The sides of the float are decorated in tinsel-like material and fringed at the bottom. There are several storefronts visible including "chic shoppe ladies wear", Speedwash, and then the Elks Hall in the distance. There is a crowd of people lining the street. |
