Description |
Oil on canvas. Light wood matte and frame, silver plaque at BC. Dimensions: 14 3/4" x 18 3/4" Painting depicts James Park elementary school from an angular point-of-view on green grass. The school illustrated in the painting has a grey roof with was seems to be a viewing tower. The school is brown at the top, beige/cream at the centre, and a cream brick at the bottom. An enterance way with stairs is seem at the BL corner of the painting. Artist signature is illegible, but artist is known to be "R. Guest" based on a note on the back of the painting along with associated donation documentation. The silver plaque at the BC of the frame reads "James Park School. 1913." written in black sharpie. Canvas is revealed to be "Fredrix" canvas panel - logo on back of canvas. |
